The City of Thousand Oaks determined to install seismic valves on the existing inlet-outlet pipes for seven reservoirs to ensure that during strong earthquakes and pipeline failure, stored water is not drained.
Perliter & Ingalsbe provided a full range of engineering services including preliminary planning and design, final design of the proposed improvements, bidding services, construction management, and continuous inspection.
Major Components and Special Features:

- Research and evaluate different seismic sensing instrument and select the most suitable one for the application
- Develop requirements for seismic valve system, including seismic measuring instrument, valve, electrical unit, control, flow meter, communication, etc.
- Design of seismic valve system components for seven reservoirs
